eLearning as a foundational strategy for corporate training continues to prove its value. This is especially true with the evolution of cloud-based technologies and the growing tend toward remote workforces. And while the learning management system (LMS) can offer great value as the core of this learning strategy, many on the market today are limited with regard to assessing user progress and comprehension.
The Value of Online Assignments in Corporate Training
Within corporate training, assignment is a broad term that can include a number of training activities, such as homework, document exchange, written exams, and more. Each of these can provide an excellent method for assessing user progress and comprehension while allowing for more of a freeform discussion than multiple choice quizzes can offer.
Some of the specific use cases for an LMS assignments engine for corporate training can include:
Written Exams
Some corporate training courses demand that the leaner acquires a deep knowledge and understanding of the content. While multiple choice quizzes can be valuable in supporting this examination, written exams can provide a more powerful method of assessment.
File Exchange
The corporate training process can require an exchange of files in support of employee development efforts. Using an assignments engine to facilitate the exchange of files in a timely manner can enhance the training experience.
Video Review
Some areas of corporate training, such as sales training, can benefit from instructor review of video files. An assignment engine can support this need very well.
User Feedback
Collecting user feedback is an important exercise as it provides valuable data regarding the user experience in your corporate training program, without the constraints of multiple-choice surveys.
